Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Mathematics Education at The Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of Universidad de Chile. CMM is an associate research unit to CNRS-France http://www.cnrs.fr
Monthly salary will be $ 1.200.000 after taxes, about US$ 2.500. As a reference, the rent of a furnished apartment near CMM is about US$600 per month. Flight expenses (roundtrip) will be covered.
Candidates should exhibit evidence of outstanding research potential and are required to have received a Ph.D. degree in mathematics education or a related field by the beginning of the appointment, and not before 2006.
They are expected to dedicate fully to research in an active research-oriented environment, with no teaching duties. Spanish language is not required.
Positions are for one year, renewable for up to three years. Appointments do not have a fixed starting date but should preferably start between july and september 2011. Possibility to apply for national grants in case of a longer stay is also open.
