This activity brought together experts in the areas of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDE) and nonlinear analysis of China, Chile and other countries, and included the participation of five professors of the Department of Engineering Mathematics (DIM), Research Associates Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM), and Research Associate of the Centre for the Analysis of Partial Differential Equations of Chile (CAPD): Manuel del Pino, Patricio Felmer, Michal Kowalczyk, Raul and Juan Davila Manasevich.
The aim of the conference was to strengthen the ties between China and Chile mathematicians in the area of PDEs and Nonlinear Analysis. The links include increasing scientific collaboration, the participation of postdocs and PhD student training. Thus now the home to 3 DIM Chinese doctoral students, 2 postdocs and trained a Dr., who now serves on the UTFSM.
Also, is already planning to undertake a future Sino–Chilean Conference at our facilities by 2012.
