DIM-CMM is awarded Program CONICYT-INRIA

In recentyears, the area of renewable resources of the Center for Mathematical Modeling(CMM) and French researchers have been improving biological processes forwastewater treatment using mathematical models.

The project”Modeling, control and optimization processes for biologicaldecontamination (ECOLOMICRO2)”, one of the five wining proposals, will allowfurther studies on microbial ecology, carried out by researchers at CMM andINRIA who participate in the project “Modeling and Water Resources”.

Continuity of modeling in microbial ecologyhas a huge significance since microbial ecosystems are responsible for thetransformation of pollution.

On onehand, ECOLOMICRO2 aims to develop models and predict changes in theconcentration of various agencies involved in the process of biologicaldecontamination, and by the other hand, manage and control the properfunctioning of the biological processes with the aim of improving theirperformance.

The award project was presented by Hector Ramirez, academic from the Departmentof Mathematical Engineering and researcher at the CMM, and by Alain Rapaportof the Institute of Agronomic Research in France, INRA.
