For the first time since new president of Universidad de Chile Ennio Vivaldi assumed, the vice president for Research and Development Flavio Salazar visited academics of the Center of Mathematical Modeling (CMM).
During the meeting, the CMM director Alejandro Jofré presented the work of the center on Mining, Education, Genomic, Astronomy and other areas, its international alliances, growth and impact in the last years.
After that, the group discussed about university’s new policies on innovation and issues on intellectual property.
“It is clear the contribution of this center to society. Universidad de Chile wants to collect and replicate CMM’s best practices in many other areas where university has capabilities, but not the organization of this center”, said Salazar who is visiting different faculties and unit to know about the work of the researchers.
