Intereses de Investigación

My research interests are on one side ergodic theory, topological and symbolic dynamics. In particular, I am interesting in local entropy theory and spectral theory of Cantor minimal systems. On the other side I am interested in the application of probability theory and dynamical systems in Bioinformatics.

Biografía

Alejandro Maass holds a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the Université d’Aix-Marseille II, France (1994) and a degree in Mathematical Engineering from the University of Chile (1990), where he is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematical Engineering. He is also a principal investigator at the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM), director of International Relations, and coordinator of the applied research line on Climate and Biodiversity at the same center. Prof. Maass is also an associate researcher at the Millennium Institute for Genome Regulation (CRG). His main research interests are in ergodic theory and systems biology.
