Teenagers from all over Chile were awarded at the closing ceremony of the School Mathematics Tournament (CMAT 2015), sponsored by Center for Mathematical Modeling of Universidad de Chile (CMM). The event took place on October 21 at the Campus San Joaquin of the Universidad Católica de Chile and awarded 107 students from over 20 schools around the country.
More than two thousand students from 119 schools participated in the competition, where they were tested during the year through various mathematical exams and problems sent by the organization.
The big winner this year was Instituto Nacional, which won the golden trophy due to highest scores in the category of student teams and individuals.
The award ceremony was attended by Jaime San Martín, CMM Researcher, and Rafael Labarca, director of CMAT, who stressed the large number of schools and students that entered this year’s competition.
