Eight postdocs of the Center for Mathematical Modeling were recently awarded Postdoctoral Grants and Initiation into Research Projects from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (Fondecyt in Spanish).
The fund approved a total of 285 postdoctoral projects. Eighteen of them were in the Mathematics area, while Universidad de Chile lead the list with 81 projects.
The Postdoctoral Grants awarded from CMM are:
- Jorge Faya, who works with prof Juan Diego Dávila.
- Andrea Jiménez, who works with prof Maya Stein.
- Ba Khiet Le, who works with prof Abderrahim Hantoute.
- Lin Congping, who works with prof Alejandro Maass.
- Ville Salo, who works with prof Michael Schraudner.
- Siming Tu, who works with prof Alejandro Maass.
- Nicole Spillane, who works with prof Axel Osses.
The Initiation into Research Projects Grant from CMM awarded is:
- Mahsa Allahbakhshi, who works with profs Alejandro Maass and Michael Schraudner.
“Postdocs are very important for CMM because of both their research and their role as link with the society”, said CMM director Alejandro Jofré.
