With 152 projects approved, the University of Chile led the 2012 version of the Regular Fondecyt Contest. Of this number, 34 are initiatives of academics of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, two of them led by researchers of the Center for Mathematical Modeling, Raúl Gouet and Rodrigo Palma.
Another researcher of the Centre who awarded a project was the academic of University of Concepción, Fabián Flores Bazán.
In addition, the External Associate group of CMM, belonging to the Universidad Federico Santa María, obtained four projects. The researchers who won it are: Pedro Gajardo, Alberto Mercado, Jinggang Tan and Ronny Vallejos.
This year Regular Fondecyt approved a total of 605 projects of which 41 are in the area of Mathematics.
