CMM's researchers will be professors in the Postgraduate program in Medical Informatics

During the first semester of 2012, the Faculty of Medicine of Universidad de Chile, will begin the first 12 post-graduate courses in Medical Informatics, an emerging field with global relevance.

The courses are aimed at students from both areas of health and engineering and are designed to achieve general skills in medicine, Bionformática, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Project Management and Public Health. Through this, graduate students will receive a solid interdisciplinary base which is crucial for the good performance in the field of Computer Mathematics.

The group of professor of this program is composed by  academics from the Faculties of Medicine and Physics and Mathematical Sciences, of Universidad de Chile, among which are the researchers of the Center for Mathematical Modeling, Alejandro Maass and Tomas Perez-Acle.

This program was created in conjunction with academics at the University of Heidelberg and Heilbronn Hochschule in order to offer courses that meet the European international standard ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) and can be validated for the Masters in Medical Informatics, which is in process of approval in our University.
