DIM and CMM's Researchers awarded eight projects of incentives for International Cooperation

A total of 196 projects were approved in the contest of Incentives for International Cooperation Fondecyt 2008. Eight of them are CMM's associate researchers (7 from the Department of Mathematical Engineering, University of Chile and one from the Department of Mathematical Engineering, U. de Concepción).

This program of Incentives for International Cooperation aims at  strengthen the quality of Fondecyt projects through the contribution of foreign researchers or Chilean researchers who are working other countries.

In the 2008 version were submitted 43 projects in mathematics and were approved 38. This discipline is in second place after Physics and Astronomy, that headed the list with 42 projects awarded.

The resources obtained will enable finance flight tickets and per diem of researchers invited to participate in Fondecyt projects.

– Raúl Gouet: Probabilidades y Modelos Estocásticos, DIM, U de Chile
– Michal Kowalczyk: Ecuaciones Diferenciales, DIM, U. de Chile
– Salomé Martínez: Ecuaciones Diferenciales, DIM, U. de Chile
– Héctor Ramírez: Optimnización y Equilibrio, DIM, U. de Chile
