Textbooks of the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), in partnership with the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE) and the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (FCFM) at the University of Chile in Santiago, held a International seminar of Textbooks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, from 27, 28 and September 29, 2010.
The meeting is a comprehensive and participatory analysis, addressed to all those who research, produce and use textbooks in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
Within a wide range of topics related to textbooks, during the activity will address the construction and production of textbooks in mathematics, physics and chemistry, its installation in the classroom through teacher training and the generation of material auxiliary and complementary, to assess the level of use of texts in the classroom and the factors that influence their use, the role of textbooks in front of the emphasis on innovative approaches to school curriculum, such as mathematical reasoning, inquiry and problem solving, the role of textbooks in mathematics, physics and chemistry in the development of practitioners, and the participation of scientists, training analysts and teachers in the production and evaluation of textbooks.
