The President of the National Council for science and Technology of Paraguay, Luis Alberto Lima, made an official visit to the Center for Mathematical Modeling, with the purpose of explore opportunities of mutual collaboration.
The installation of centers of excellence for science and innovation was one of the main interests of the government officer, and widely reviewed in a meeting with CMM’s director, Alejandro Jofré, and a group of main researchers –some of them founders of this center–.
“The way that this centers are organized in Chile can constitute an applicable and adaptable model for our countries (in Southamerica). This model is enhanced by multilateral collaboration between the institutions that are part of the center´s network, as well as the dynamic interaction with productive sector”, said Lima.
“I’m going back amazed, after seeing the great number of possible applications for mathematical research, which are very important for industrial and economic development in our countries”, he added after the meeting.
